IGINIIT ni House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Partylist Representative France Castro, na ituloy ang imbestigasyon sa overpriced at lumang laptop na binili ng Department of Budget and Management – Procurement Service (DBM-PS ) para sa Department of Education.
Ani Castro, kailangang maimbestigahan ang transaksiyon lalo’y ang isa sa mga nanalong kontraktor ay Sunwest Construction and Development Corp., na pag-aari ni House committee on appropriation chairman at AKO Bicol party-list Elizalde Co.
Nabatid, ang joint-venture ng Sunwest Construction and Development Corp., LDLA Marketing and Trading Inc. at VST ECS (Philippines) Inc., ang nanalo sa bidding sa P2.4-bilyong kontrata sa laptop.
Nangangamba si Castro na baka hindi matuloy ang imbestigasyon dahil kay Co.
Itinanggi ni Co, sa pamamagitan ni dating Ako Bicol party-list Rep. Alfredo Garbin Jr., na may kinalaman pa siya sa Sunwest.
“Please be informed that I divested all my interests in Sunwest Construction and Development Corporation (SCDC) in 2019. In faithful compliance with existing laws, rules and regulations, no member of my family are SCDC shareholders.
“I’m issuing this clarification to avoid possible future references to me as owner of SCDC. Thus, I would appreciate if there will be no further references to my name or use of my photos/videos in relation to SCDC or any of its projects. Thank you very much,” ayon sa statement ni Co na inihayag ni Garbin.
Naghain si Castro ng panukalang buwagin na ang DBM-PS dahil umano sa pagkakasangkot sa napakaraming iregularidad. (GERRY BALDO)
