ISANG pari ng Simbahang Katolika na nagpositibo sa CoVid-19 ang nasawi nang atakehin sa puso kahit bakunado ng dalawang dose ng Sinovac.
Nabatid ito sa paskil sa Facebook ni Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) president at Diocese of Caloocan bishop Pablo Virgilio David kamakalawa.
Iniutos aniya ng CoVid-19 Command Center ng Caloocan City ang temporary lockdown sa San Roque Cathedral simula kahapon nang biglang pumanaw ang guest priest ng parokya na si Fr. Manuel Jadraque, Jr., ng Mission Society of the Philippines.
Pababa ng tricycle si Jadraque sa tapat ng Cathedral mula sa Monumento kamakalawa ng umaga, nang makitang walang malay, habang hawak ang P50 pambayad sa driver.
Isinugod si Jadraque sa Caloocan City Medical Center (CCMC) ngunit idineklarang dead on arrival.
“I called the MSP superior to break the sad news to him and he and his fellow MSPs were shocked because he seemed very healthy. He was supposed to return to Auckland, New Zealand already last May 2021 but was prevented by the travel ban due to the pandemic,” anang obispo.
Iginiit ni David, isasailalim sa post-mortem swab test ang labi ni Jadraque bunsod ng pagkamatay ng dalawang pari na sina Fr. Salty De la Rama, SJ, at Fr. Ike Ymson, MJ, sa atake sa puso na may kaugnayan sa CoVid-19.
Lumabas sa resulta na positibo sa CoVid-19 si Jadraque na ayon kay David ay fully vaccinated ng Sinovac.
“What makes Fr. Manuel’s case particularly concerning is the fact that he has already been fully vaccinated with Sinovac. By the way, he was only 58 years old,” anang objspo.
“We have no way of finding out if the heart attack had been triggered by CoVid-19 despite the fact that he had been fully vaccinated already.”
Upang malaman kung anong uri ng CoVid-19 variant ang dumapo kay Jadraque, hiniling ni David sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Caloocan na isumite para sa genome sequencing ang laboratory specimen ng nasawing pari.
“We also do not know which strain of CoVid it was. We therefore asked the city government to have the lab specimen submitted for genome sequencing to find out which variant had infected Fr. Manuel,” aniya.
Ang Sinovac na gawa sa China ang pangunahing bakuna na ginagamit sa bansa, mayorya nito ay donasyon ng Beijing sa Filipinas.
