20% real property tax reduction nilagdaan ni Isko

PIRMADO na ni Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso  ang Ordinance No. 8567 na gumagarantiya  ng 20 porsiyentong kaba­wasan sa real  property tax ng mga taga-May­nila mapa-pribado man o commercial  na lupa.

“There is a need to adopt a more progres­sive and equitable revenue system to help our taxpayers from the detrimental effects of economic downturn,

“This may be achieved through a further reduction in the ceiling on the cor­responding increase in the tax levy from 60% by 20% based on the incremental values of real properties under Or­dinance No. 8330 (2014 General Revision of Real Property Assessments),” saad sa ordinansa.

Sa ilalim ng ordinan­sa,  inatasan ang City Treasurer’s Office at  Department of Assess­ment na maglabas sa loob ng limang araw  ng alituntunin at patakaran  sa inaprobahang ordi­nansa.

“All other ordinances, acts, administrative orders, rules and regula­tions inconsistent with or contrary to the provisions of this ordinance are here­by repealed or otherwise modified accordingly,” dekla­rasyon sa ordinansa.

Magiging epektibo ang ordinansa sa 1 Enero 2020.

Sinaksihan ni Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, Majority Floor Leader Joel Chua at ng Konseho ng Maynila ang paglag­da ng alkalde sa nasa­bing ordinansa sa Bulwagang  Katipunan.

Nanawagan ang alkalde sa taxpayers sa lungsod na hanggang 31 Disyembre pa ang kani­lang pagkakataon na makapagbayad ng kani­lang buwis na hindi nabayaran.

Aniya, isa itong pina­kamahabang am­nesty dahil binigyan ang taxpayers ng mababang buwis.
