Apat na dekada ng pagkaing masarap at serbisyong tunay

SINO ang mag-aakala na ang isang antique collector ay kalaunang magiging premyadong restaurateur ng Maynila?

Ganito sinimulan ng yuma­ong Larry J. Cruz ang kanyang restaurant chain may 40 taon na ang nakalipas.

Ipinagdiriwang ng LJC Group — hinango mula sa mga unang letra ng buong pangalan ng punda­dor nito — ang ika-40 ani­bersaryo ng kompanya at ginu­nita ng anak ni Larry na si Lorna Cruz-Ambas kung paa­nong hindi inaasahang pina­simulan ng kanyang ama ang kanilang food business makara­ang dumalaw ang isang estrang­hero sa kanilang antique shop sa panulukan ng Adriatico St., kalapit ng Remedios Circle para kombin­sihin na magtayo ng café para sa mahihilig sa kape at maaaring tawaging mga tsismoso’t tsisi­mosa na mahilig sa huntahan ng sari-saring balita.

Dito isinilang ang iconic Café Adriatico sa Malate, Maynila.

At mula sa simulaiing ito, ang ipinatayong restawran ni Larry ay nag-anak pa ng siyam na kainan na maituturing na mga icon ng casual dining — ang Abe, Fely J’s Kitchen, Café Havana, Bistro Remedios, Café Adriatico Express, Lorenzo’s Way, Larry’s Café & bar, Abe’s Farm at Polka Dot Bakeshop.

Makalipas ang 40 taon, pumaimbulog ang LJC Group para isalin ang mga exciting food experience ng nakalipas na apat na dekada sa mga mouth-watering food video, na ilulunsad sa mga social media platform para ipaalam sa lahat ang kanilang mensahe: This is what 40 tastes like!

At para maging mas makato­to­hanan ang food experience, ilulunsad din ng restaurant group ang kanilang 40 to Party raffle promo, na ang kanilang mga parokyano ay maaaring manalo ng full menu para sa 40 katao — free of charge!

“This is our way of remembering my father. From what he started four decades ago, we have pressed on, maintaining what he has started in envisioning the good life by redefining casual Filipino dining with many theme restaurants,” anang anak ni Larry sa Kapihan sa Manila Bay media forum na ginaganap sa Café Adriatico tuwing Miyerkoles.

Sa pagtatapos, binanggit ni Lorna ang inaalalang words of wisdom mula sa kanyang ama: “A good meal is one that satisfies all the senses.”

Ito ang nararanasan ng kanilang mga suki tuwing dumadalaw sa kanilang mga restawran, na nagsisilbing “food that more than just good looking, has a taste that piques the palate — matching the setting and enjoyable to everyone.”
