‘Drug war’ ng estado ‘walang pipiliin’

WALANG pakialam ang estado sa panlipunan at pampolitikang katayuan ng isang taong sangkot sa isinusulong na drug war ng administrasyong Duterte kaya maging ang iisang dating alkalde sa Mindanao na nasa narcolist ay napaslang nang manlaban sa mga awtoridad.

“Regardless of the social and political status of persons involved and/or engaged in the illegal drug industry, the same fate will necessarily befall them if they resist arrest and shoot it out with the arresting officers,” ayon kay Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo.

Ang pahayag ni Panelo ay kasu­nod nang pagpatay kay dating Parang, Maguindanao mayor Tahib Abo ng mga kaga­wad ng Philippine Drug Enforce­ment Agency (PDEA) sa isang anti-illegal drugs operation.

Ani Panelo, pinahihintulutan sa batas ang paggamit ng kara­hasan ng mga awtoridad kapag nalagay sa peligro ang kanilang buhay sa isang lehitimong police operation.

“The drug menace has struck and destroyed a generation of Filipinos and threatens the next one. It has been the cause of the commission of crimes against persons and properties,” aniya.

“There will be no sacred cows in this administration. Those who disobey or violate the law will pay the price for their crimes or transgressions,” dagdag niya.
