Alma Concepcion, nalungkot sa sexual harassment sa Miss Earth

IPINAHAYAG ni Alma Co­ncep­cion na ikinalungkot niya ang pumutok na isyu ng sexual harassment sa tatlong Miss Earth 2018 candidates na sina Miss Canada Jaime Vandenberg, Miss England Abbey-Anne Gyles-Brown and Miss Guam Emma Mae Sheedy.

Saad niya, “I felt bad, kasi in Bb. Pilipinas, wala kaming inte­raction at all sa sponsors, we see them from afar. For me, iyong masyadong too close interaction without protection, without security… I mean, kontrolado iyon dapat ng organizer. So, actually, matagal ko nang naririnig iyong mga ganoon…

“Nairita ako, kasi we’re sup­posed to market the Philip­pines in a nice way. We’re supposed to… they can create or destroy an image and I feel good and bad. Kasi good, dahil matututo na ‘yung taong concern, parang tumahimik ka na, umayos ka na and good din for the organizers, they should be on their toes,” wika ni Alma na naging finalist sa Miss International noon.

“Hindi ko alam kung kailan pa ito nagsimula but too much interaction with the candidates, I think it’s wrong kasi sa expe­rience ko sa Bb. Pilipinas Charity ay walang ganyan. Sa amin, we just see the sponsors from afar, saka walang interaction na one on one, wala.  Pero ito, na ano, yate? Tapos wala naman silang security, it’s masyadong presko, it’s wrong. For me it’s wrong. It’s really really wrong. An organizer should protect the candidates,” saad ng isa sa BeauteDerm ambassadress ni Ms. Rhea Tan.

Si Alma ay bahagi ng proyektong Sarah and Cedie na isa sa anim na pelikula ng Flying High Productions ni Mr. Joshua Macapagal at mula sa direksiyon ni Errol Ropero. Ang lima pang indie films ng naturang produk­siyon ay Prince of Music, My Music Hero Teacher, Mga Munting Pangarap, Science En Marsha, at A Walk To Remem­ber. Ang elementary and high school students ang target au­dience nila kaya naman ipapa­labas ito sa iba’t ibang paaralan sa bansa.

Kapag may indie project na dumarating, happy ba siya? “Of course, I always feel, every project whether interior design­ing or acting, lagi akong excited lalo na ito, iba ‘yung role ko rito, yaya. Kasi kadalasan kontrabida, madalas ako’ng mataray. So, matagal ko nang gustong magka­roon ng role na ganito, ‘yung hindi masyadong postura,” saad ni Alma.

Mahirap siyang gawing yaya, dahil maganda at sexy. Ano ang reaction niya rito? “Iyon ‘yung challenge, kasi bilang artista gusto mong umarte na hindi ikaw. Mas opposite, mas maganda, mas exciting. Enjoy ako sa dumarating na project, lalo na pag may variety. So eto, variety sa akin ito,” nakangiting pahayag ng aktres.
