Total closure sa Boracay (Sa loob ng 12 buwan)

INIREKOMENDA ng departments of Environment and Natural Resources, Interior and Local Government, at Tourism ang isang taon total closure sa island resort Boracay upang isailalim sa rehabilitasyon.

Inianunsiyo nina Environment Secretary Roy Cimatu, Interior officer-in-charge Eduardo Año, at Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo ang kanilang rekomendasyon kay Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nitong Huwebes.

“For public health, public interest, and general welfare, I recommend to the President the closure of Boracay island as tourist destination for a maximum of one year effective one month after the declaration,” ayon sa pahayag ni Cimatu.

Sinabi ni Cimatu, sa pagsasara ng island resort sa mga turista ay magkakaroon ng sapat na panahon sa pagpapatupad ng mga hakbang upang maibalik sa dating ganda ang Boracay bilang pangunahing tourism destination.
