P24.49-B cash grants inilabas ng DBM (Para sa 1.8-M benepisyado ng 4Ps)

NAGPALABAS ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM) nitong Lunes ng P24.49 bilyon sa Land Bank of the Philippines para sa cash grants ng mahihirap na pamilya at indibiduwal.

Ayon sa DBM, ang pera ay ipinalabas sa ilalim ng Tax Reform Cash Transfer Project (TRCT) ng Department of Social and Welfare and Development (DSWD).

“The TRCT seeks to provide cash grants to poor households and individuals who may not benefit from the lower income tax rates but may be adversely affected by rising prices,” ayon sa DBM.

Inaprobahan nitong Disyembre, ang Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion law ay pinababa ang personal income tax, at itinaas ang value-added tax (VAT) base.

Sinabi ng gobyerno nitong nakaraang taon, ito ay maglalaan ng P200 monthy subsidies sa 10 milyong pamilya upang makasabay sa tumaas na presyo ng mga bilihin.

Ayon sa DBM, ang halagang ipinalabas sa LandBank ay kinabibilangan ng P4.3 bilyon para sa P200 monthly cash grants sa 1,805,801 existing beneficiaries ng Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

“The immediate release of the aforementioned funds entitles 4Ps beneficiaries to receive their cash grants within the month,” aniya.

“Notably, the entire annual TRCT cash grant shall be provided one-time per year to the intended beneficiaries,” dagdag niya.

Ang DBM ay magpapalabas ng subsidies sa 4.4 milyon 4Ps households sa Marso, kabilang ang 1.8 milyon na may existing LandBank cash cards at 2.6 milyon iba pang wala nito.
