No rice shortage — DA

NANINDIGAN ang Department of Agriculture (DA) na walang rice shortage sa Filipinas sa kabila ng isyu nang bumabang stock ng National Food Authority (NFA).

Ayon kay DA Sec. Manny Piñol, 96 percent rice sufficient ang ating bansa ngayon.

Ang problema umano ay madalang ang pasok ng bigas na ibinibenta sa NFA ng local farmers.

Kaya hinimok ni Sen. Nancy Binay ang NFA council na itaas ang P17 per kilo na binibiling bigas sa mga magsasaka at gawing P20 kada kilo.

Sa ganitong paraan umano ay mahihikayat ang mga magsasaka na dalhin sa gobyerno ang kanilang produkto imbes ibenta sa pribadong rice dealers.

Sinang-ayonan ito ni Piñol at sinabing makatuwiran lang ang nasabing pagtataas ng bilihan.

Gayonman, kailangan dito ang dagdag na pondo para sa NFA.
