NPA muling kinondena ni Duterte (Sa pag-atake sa humanitarian mission)

KINONDENA ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pananambang ng New people’s Army (NPA) sa mga sundalo na maghahatid ng relief goods sa mga sinalanta ng bagyong Urduja sa Samar kahapon.

Sa kanyang pagbisita sa Biliran, lalawigan na pinakamatinding hinagupit ni Urduja, sinabi ng Pangulo na ang mga pag-atake ng NPA ang dahilan kaya nagpasya siyang tuldukan ang peace talks sa mga rebeldeng komunista.

Sa text message, inihayag ni Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque ang mga direktiba ng Pangulo makaraan makita ang lawak ng pinsala ni Urduja.

“He directed DILG to intensify rescue operations for individuals who are still missing, and also conveyed that his condemnation of the NPA attack on humanitarian soldiers engaged in humanitarian work in Samar, reiterating that this is the reason why he has opted to cease all talks with the NPA,” ani Roque.

Nakipagpulong aniya ang Pangulo kay Biliran Gov. Gerry Espina at sa lahat ng alkalde sa lalawigan.

“The president met with all the mayors and the governor of the province of Biliran together with majority of the members of the cabinet. He of course condoled with the victims of typhoon Urduja and  pledged that government will do everything it can to help Biliran rise again,” giit niya.

Inutusan niya ang trade officials na tutukan ang presyo ng mga bilihin, habang sa DPWH ay tapusin sa loob ng 30 araw ang pagkumpuni sa nasirang tu­lay.

“There was also some discussion on the possibility of having to rethink the crops of Biliran, pinpointing to the experience of Magpet in Mindanao. Magpet changed from rice to rubber, and DA while offering a credit facility of P25,000 for farmers, also stressed that with climate change, perhaps Biliran should consider shifting to coconut and cacao, sabi ni Roque.
