INILUNSAD noong Huwebes ng Film Development Council of the Philippines sa pamamagitan ng chairman nitong si Liza Dino ang pagbubukas ng Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino na magaganap sa Agosto 16-22.
Labindalawang pelikula ang kalahok sa PPP na magsisimula na isang linggong mapapanood sa mga sinehan sa Metro Manila. Ang mala-fiestang tema ng PPP ay nagtatampok sa iba’t ibang klase ng genre na makapipili ang mga manonood.
Kasabay nito, inihayag naman ng Globe Telecom ang pakikiisa nila sa FDCP sa pamamagitan ng PPP para sa kanilang #PlayItRight advocacy, isang anti-piracy advocacy na layuning mabago ang mindset at pag-uugali ng Pinoy sa panonood ng pelikula.
Sa pagbabandera ng PPP, naipakikita ng Globe ang kanilang suporta sa Philippine movie industry. Ang PPP ay mayroong pinakamalaking bilang ng pagpapalabas ng pelikula nationwide na mayroong 790 theaters na magpapalabas sa 12 kalahok na napili.

“This is not just a film showing event, but really a celebration of films that are distinctly ours and which we can connect and identify with. We are glad that we have the support and advocacy partnership with Globe for their anti-piracy campaign to make PPP more meaningful,” saad pa ni Dino.
