MPD traffic chief sinibak sa kotong sa Lawton

SINIBAK ang hepe ng Manila Police District’s Traffic Enforcement Unit nitong Huwebes, makaraan isa sa kanyang mga tauhan ang nadakip habang nangongotong sa bus operators malapit sa City Hall.

Iniutos ni Mayor Joseph Estrada kay MPD chief, Supt. Joel Coronel, ang pagsibak kay Supt. Lucile Faycho habang iniimbestigahan ng mga awtoridad ang sinasabing talamak na extortion activities ng mga pulis sa Lawton area.

Magugunitang si PO2 Joseph Buan ay inaresto ng mga tauhan ng Philippine National Police Counter-Intelligence Task Force sa entrapment operation. Nagresulta ito sa pagsibak kay Buan.

Ayon sa ulat, si Buan ay kumokolekta P2,000 kada araw sa bus operators sa Liwasang Bonifacio.

“Accordingly, the amount of protection money was raised from P500 to P2,000 weekly, hence the complaint. Cash money amounting to P62,890 was recovered from the arrested PNP personnel,” pahayag ni Director General Ronald dela Rosa, Philippine National Police chief, sa press conference sa Camp Crame.

Ito ang ikatlong pagkakataon na may inarestong pulis-Maynila dahil sa pangongotong.
