INILUNSAD ang Hunyo bilang buwan ng pagdiriwang ng Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Month sa Palacio de Gobernador, nitong Biyernes, 14 Hulyo, sa pakikipagtulungan ng NCCA at Intramuros Administration kasabay ng inagurasyon ng mga exhibit ng persons with disabilities batay sa 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals at Intercultural Exhibit on the Plight of Refugees.
Nagkaroon ng special performance mula sa Earthsavers UNESCO Artist for Peace, na umapela sa pagwawakas ng karahasan sa sangkatauhan at Mother Earth at tinapos sa press luncheon.
Ginanap ito sa pakikipagtulungan ng Earthsavers UNESCO Dream Center, International Theatre Institute Social Network at United Nations Information Center (UNIC) ga-yondin ng Climate Institute. Ang exhibit ay bukas sa publiko at ilalabas sa 31 Hulyo.
Nagbigay si Atty. Guiller Asido, Intramuros Administrator ng welcome remarks at may mensahe mula sa Executive Director ng NCCA na si Rico Pableo, Heherson Alvarez, Chairman, Advisor Board of the Climate Institute, at Teresa Debuque, United Nations Information Center (UNIC) Information Officer.
Binasa ni Usec. Malou Turalde-Jarabe ang keynote address ni Sec. Judy M. Taguiwalo para sa pagdiriwang.
Ginampanan ng Earthsavers ang music theatre interpretation ng 10 commandments for disability at apela sa pagwawakas ng armed conflict kabilang ang pangakong itataguyod ang karapatan ng mga taong may kapansanan.
Iniharap ng organizing partners ang Braille Pilipino version ng UN Convention on the Rights of PWDs.
Naging masters of ceremonies sina Magsaysay Outstanding Asian Artist Laureate Cecile Guidote-Alvarez, Director of Earthsavers UNESCO Artist for Peace at former KWF Chairman, Jose Laderas Santos, Chairman ng Philippine Center of the ITI.
Ipinagdiriwang ng Philippine Center of ITI ang ika-50 anibersaryo na nakatuon sa “cultural caregiving services for healing trauma, empowering vulnerable groups through inclusive transformative lifelong learning with a techno-arts methodology that popularizes science data in cultural symbols people understand and bridge understanding to promote a culture of peace & protection of the environment.”
