Anti-corruption campaign — Pimentel (Pagpatay sa gov’t officials)

NANAWAGAN si Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III sa Philippine National Police (PNP) nang malalimang imbestigasyon sa nangyaring pagpatay sa ilang government officials na kilalang lumalaban sa korupsiyon.

Kabilang sa mga huling napaslang ay galing mismo sa dalawang top revenue collection agencies.

Si Director Jonas Amora ay mula sa regional office ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), habang si Deputy Commissioner Arturo Lachica ay nanggaling sa Bureau of Customs (BoC).

Naniniwala si Pimentel, konektado ang pagpatay sa pinaigting na kampanya ng Duterte administration laban sa korupsiyon.

Bagama’t may inilabas nang reward money sa ikadarakip ng mga salarin, nangangailangan pa aniya nang higit na aksiyon ang PNP upang maaresto ang mga may kagagawan nito.

“We should not discount the possibility that they were killed due to President Duterte’s ongoing campaign against corruption. If they were silenced by scalawags, we must redouble our efforts to catch the killers and redress the injustice against the families of the victims and against the Filipino people,” wika ng Senate leader.
