KAALIW si Joy Viado na gumanap na Petunia sa isang monologue na bahagi ng Tatlong Yugto, Tatlong Babae written by Palanca awardee Liza Magtoto.
Tawa kami ng tawa sa kanyang portrayal bilang isang cougar na mahilig sa mga dance instructor.
Ang say ni Joy who turned 50 years ago, talagang mayroong celebration ang kanyang pagtuntong sa golden girl age.
“Nag-celebrate kami ng mga anak ko. May surprise party sila sa akin. Tinanggap ko siya (turning 50) ng maayos. Hinihintay ko nga na maging 60 na ‘ko,” chika ni Joy who described her monologue character as ”true to life”.
“Ako talaga ‘yun. Nakare-relate talaga ako. Hindi ako nahirapan kasi parang naglalaro lang ako kasi ‘di ba luka-luka ako? Alam ko ang mga DI (dance instructor). Ang saya-saya lang.”
Tatlong Yugto, Tatlong Babae was written for naFlora Feminine Hygiene Wash and Think+Talk Creative Communication’s Protect Your Own: Empowering Women campaign and was staged at Teatrino in Greenhills.
It’s about three monologues of three different women from different age brackets. Ruth Alferezplays Marigold, a married woman who dreams of becoming a triathlon athlete but is deterred by her motherhood. Karen Jaysette Bingco is Jasmine, a teen who was trapped in bathroom where it gave her the chance to confront her teen angst.
After the monologues, obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Ma. Lourdes Escobar gave a short talk on feminine hygiene and discussed naFlora’s variants, Protect (for daily use and during monthly period), Restore (for postpartum care) and Moisture (for women of menopause).
