Lotilla nangumpisal sa MRT/LRT Fare Hike

SA pagdinig ng House Committee on Transportation kahapon sa Kamara, mistulang nangumpisal si Department of Transportation and Communications (DoTC) Undersecretary Jose Lotilla.

Pag-amin ni Lotilla, wala nga silang kapangyarihan na magtaas ng pasahe sa MRT/LRT kung kaya’t  lumalabas na illegal ang dagdag pasahe na kanilang sinisingil.

Tinuran pa ng opisyal, ang fare hike na kanilang ipinatutupad sa  MRT/LRT ay para kumita lamang at makikinabang dito ang concessionaire ng mga naturang tren.

Ibinulgar pa ni Lotilla, base sa concession agreement sa LRT 1 extension, pasimula pa lamang ito dahil may mga mangyayari pang taas pasahe kada dalawang taon.

“There is treachery and deception on Malacanang’s part because they have not been forthright about these issues and are still doing all they can to justify the fare increase. It is also deplorable that DoTC Sec. Joseph Abaya did not even show up at the hearing but is all over media defending the fare hike,” bira ni Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares.

Dahil dito, hiniling ng mambabatas sa komite na ipagpaliban muna ang fare hike sa MRT/LRT habang nakabinbin sa Supreme Court ang hinihiling na Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).

“We will do all we can to stop these hikes because this is just the start of fare hikes especially LRT 1,” ratsada ni Rep. Colmenares.
