DFA nagbigay ng ultimatum vs Pinoys sa Libya

INIHAYAG ni Foreign Secretary Albert del Rosario kahapon, hindi na muling magrerenta ang gobyerno ng Filipinas ng isa pang barko para sunduin ang mga Filipino mula sa conflict-striken Libya, kasunod ng kaunting bilang ng mga manggagawa na nagpalista para sa paglilikas.

“It’s difficult to support another ship,” pahayag ni Del Rosario, nang maraming mga Filipino ang umatras sa planong paglilikas lulan ng barko mula Libya patungo sa Malta.

“There will be no ship after this,” aniya, at ipinunto ang katulad na insidente nang umatras din ang Filipino evacuees na lisanin ang Libya sa unang civil war noong 2011.

“In 2011, 2,000 signed up for the ship which we were able to engage. When the ship finally docked, only 700 boarded because it happened to be a nice day so the people were upbeat,” pahayag ni Del Rosario.

“A couple of days later, those same people who backed out were begging to be repatriated. That’s just the way it goes. I think the passengers are already confident that we will come back for them.” (HNT)
