MINALIIT ng Palasyo ang banta ni Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Vice Chairman for military Affairs Ghadzali Jaafar na babalik ang kanilang grupo sa armadong pakikidigma kapag nabigo ang Malacañang na maisumite sa Kongreso ang Bangsamoro Basic Law draft sa loob ng isang buwan.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, mas pinakikinggan ng administrasyong Aquino sina MILF Chairman Al Haj Ebrahim Murad at chief negotiator Mohagher Iqbal na kausap ng government peace panel, sa pamumuno ni Prof. Miriam Colonel-Ferrer.
Sinabi ni Lacierda, si Jaafar ay nakikipag-usap lang sa kanyang mga tauhan at hindi sa gobyerno.
Si Jaafar ang vice-chairman for military affairs ng MILF.
“Well, si Mr. Jaafar is talking to his own crowd, his own audience — the MILF. But we are committed to pursuing and submitting a draft BBL to Congress. None of the personalities with the exception of Mr. Jaafar has spoken in such manner not even the Chairman of the MILF peace panel, Chair Iqbal has spoken in that regard, neither did Chair Murad of MILF,” ani Lacierda.
