Thompson NCAA Player of the Week

HALIMAW sa opensa si Earl Scottie Thompson sa kanyang dalawang laro kaya naman nasa tuktok ngayon ng team standing ang Perpetual Help Altas sa 90th NCAA basketball tournament na ginaganap sa The Arena sa San Juan City.

Ang pambato ng Digos, Davao del Sur na si Thompson ay nag-average ng 26.5 points na may 21-of-32 sa shooting kasama ang 10 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals para kaldagin ang Mapua Cardinals at San Sebastian College Stags.

Dahil sa ipinakita nitong tikas sa unang dalawang laro ng Perpetual ay tinanghal siyang ACCEL Quantum Plus-316 NCAA Press Corps Player of the Week.

“That kid is a hardworker on and off the court. I’m happy that he is doing well,” wika ni Perpetual Help mentor Aric del Rosario sa 21-year-old na si Thompson in Filipino.

Para kay Thompson ay bumabawi lang ito para sa kanyang team.

“I came from injury last year when I returned so I couldn’t contribute that much. Now that I’m in full strength, I’m trying to help the team as much as I can,” ani Thompson.

Umibabaw si Thompson sa nasabing citation kay teammates Harold Arboleda at Juneric Baloria at Ola Adeogun at Baser Amer ng San Beda College Red Lions.

Kasalo ng Altas sa unahan ang five-peat seeking Red Lions at Arellano University Chiefs hawak ang tig 2-0 record.
