Pahayag ito ng Malacañang bilang tugon sa open letter ni John Silva, executive director ng Ortigas Foundation Library, na tumuligsa kay Pangulong Benigno Aquino III sa pagbibigay ng VIP treatment kina Sens. Bong Revilla at Jinggoy Estrada na sangkot sa P10-b pork barrel scam.
“We acknowledge that we continue to deal with a criminal justice system that needs to be overhauled and reformed in order to be truly fair and equitable,”ayon kay Communications Secretary Coloma Jr.
Sa kanyang liham sa Pangulo, binigyang-diin ni Silva na 10 beses na mas malaki at ‘di hamak na komportable ang bilangguan nina Revilla at Estrada, mga akusado sa pandarambong, kaysa dating Sen. NInoy Aquino na ipinakulong dahil sa pagtataguyod ng demokrasya sa bansa.
“Your dad didn’t go to jail for stealing. He was into more heady stuff like a return to democracy, human rights and moral convictions. So why the hell are you treating these senators with kid gloves, these guys who can’t seem to recall, account, or sign off on billions of missing pesos?” tanong ni Silva sa kanyang liham.
