COUNTERFEITING (pamemeke) is a big business for illegal traders in the Philippines.
Recently, warehouses were raided by the Bureau of Customs operatives and NBI and charges was also filed against the owners & tenants of these warehouses. The warehouse is said to being lease by the Olivares Family in Parañaque.
In my previous column I wrote, that if only the local government units (LGU) will order the ban on buying and selling of fake products in their cities & municipalities, they can help minimizing smuggling.
Sabi nga ni Mayor Edwin Olivarez, he will not tolerate this in his city.
But it seems no one cares sa isyung ito.
I hope Mayor Edwin Olivarez, will be the first to act to stop the distribution of these fake products in his city.
If the BOC can’t stop it … the LGUs can do it.
