Dentista: 70,000 mag-aaral — Recto (DoH, DepEd, DILG sanib-pwersa)

BINABALANGKAS na ang memorandum of agreement ng Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) para sa ipatutupad na dental program simula sa susunod na taon.

Ito ang pahayag ng Palasyo makaraan isiwalat ni Sen. Ralph Recto na siyam sa sampung Filipino ang may bulok na ngipin dahil hindi naglalaan ang administrasyong Aquino ng budget para sa oral health care.

Sinabi ni Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., iniulat ni Health Secretary Janet Garin na personal niyang pinuntahan at kinausap si Recto para ipaliwanag na kukuha na ng dagdag na mga dentist ang DoH ngayong taon.

“Pinuntahan ko si Sen. Recto personally and I explained to him that we wil now be hiring dentists from our 2015 budget. It’s not in the line item but there’s a budget for personnel. Further, we are discussing with DepEd and DILG a collaborative dental program for implementation in 2016. Draft MOA being routed na,” sabi ni Garin, ayon sa text message ni Coloma sa media.

Inihayag ni Recto na may isang dentist lamang para sa 70,000 mag-aaral at guro sa pampublikong paaralan.

Mayroon lamang aniyang 18 dentista sa pamahalaan sa bawat isang milyong Filipino habang may 3,556 halal na opisyal sa gobyerno sa bawat isang milyong pamilya.

“If every 1,000 days we hire through costly elections 81 governors, 143 city mayors, 1,491 town mayors, 11,932 town councilors, so why can’t we hire more dentists?” ani Recto.
