Pagbati kay Brownlee ipinaabot ng Speaker

IPINAABOT ni House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang pagbati sa basketball player na si Justin Brownlee ng Barangay Ginebra.

Si Brownlee ay isang resident import ng Barangay Ginebra na nag-apply ng Filipino citizenship. 

Naging ganap na Pinoy si Brownlee matapos pirmahan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang  Republic Act (RA) No. 11937.

               Ang House Bill (HB) No. 6224 na ipinanukala nina Speaker Romualdez, Cavite Rep. Elpidio “Pidi” Barzaga, Jr., at 1-Pacman Rep. Mikee Romero ang naging basehan ng batas.

“You are now a Filipino. We hope that you will be a good citizen and an excellent example for our people, especially the youth. Lead the Philippine Gilas team to victory in the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers,” ani Romualdez kay Brownlee.

Si Brownlee, 34, ay mula sa Georgia sa Estados Unidos.

 Nauna nang binati ni Romualdez si Brownlee dahil sa kagustuhan nitong tumulong sa “national team’s quest for glory in the FIBA World Cup.” (GERRY BALDO)
