NAGSIMULA na ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Navotas sa pamamahagi ng financial assistance sa mga kalipikadong solo parents sa pamamagitan ng pondo ng Gender and Development (GAD).
Nasa 200 Navoteños na nag-apply at nag-renew ng kanilang solo parent identification cards ang nakatanggap ng P2,000 cash subsidy.
Ang “Saya All, Angat All, Tulong Pinansyal ng LGU ng Navotas” para sa solo parents ay bahagi rin ng serye ng pandemic recovery programs ng pamahalaang lungsod.
“We want to extend as much help as possible to Navoteño solo parents because we know they are one of those who were severely affected by the pandemic.
“We hope to give them the means to provide for their families, especially now that the expanded face-to-face classes have started and the prices of basic commodities have increased,” ani Mayor Toby Tiangco.
“The program will run for the whole year to accommodate all qualified solo parents in the city. To be included in the list of beneficiaries, solo parents must apply or renew their IDs and be validated by the City Social Welfare and Development Office,” dagdag ni Tiangco.
Ang “Saya All, Angat All program” ay inaasahang pakikinabangan ng 1,500 solo parents sa lungsod.
Sa pamamagitan ng City Ordinance No. 2019-17, nakapagbibigay ang lungsod ng P1,000 tulong pang-edukasyon sa mga indigent solo parents bawat school year.
Noong 2020, ang mga nakarehistrong solo parent na hindi kabilang sa Social Amelioration Program (SAP) ay nakatanggap ng financial assistance sa ilalim ng GAD fund. (ROMMEL SALES)
