NAGKUSA ang ilang presidential candidates na sumailalim sa drug test matapos magpatutsada si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na isang presidentiable ang gumagamit ng cocaine.
Isinumite kahapon ng kampo ni Partido Federal ng Pilipinas standard bearer at anak ng diktador Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., ang negative result ng kanyang drug test para sa shabu at cocaine substance sa tanggapan ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP) at Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
“I really don’t feel that I am the one being alluded to. In spite of that, I believe it is my inherent duty as an aspiring public official to assure fellow Filipino that I am against illegal drugs,” sabi ni Marcos.
Nauna sa kanyang nag-negatibo sa drug test sina Partido Reporma presidential bet Panfilo Lacson at tandem niyang vice presidential candidate Sen. Tito Sotto.
Habang si Aksyon Demokratiko presidential candidate at Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso ay payag magpa-drug test ang mga kandidato .
Isinapubliko rin kahapon ng kampo ni presidential aspirant Senator Manny Pacquiao ang kopya na negatibo sa drug test results ang boxing icon na isinagawa ng Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA) noong 28 Hulyo 2021 at 8 Setyembre 2021 bago ang kanyang laban kay Youdenis Ugas sa Las Vegas.
“The test covers a wide range of performance enhancing drugs that include anabolic agents like steroids and all stimulants like cocaine and metamphetamine,” ayon sa kalatas ni Pacquiao.
“Before any athlete is allowed to compete in international competitions, they are required to undergo anti-doping test to ensure that they are not using any prohibited substance to improve their performance.” (ROSE NOVENARIO)
