NAGKAROON ng issue ang naka-schedule na painting exhibit ng Kapuso artist na si Solenn Heussaff.
Eh sa social media account ni Solenn, may ipinost siyang picture ng kanyang artworks na may background na isang mahirap na urban community bilang promo ng exhibit. Deleted na ang post niyang ‘yon matapos bumuhos ang kritisismo sa post.
Naglabas ng apology si Solenn sa kanyang Instagram account kahapon kaugnay ng binatikos na post.
Bahagi ng mahabang apology ni Solenn, ”It wasn’t my intention to hurt or offend anyone. It was my hope that I could lend my voice and my art to show the reality of Filipinos.
“This is the heart and the inspiration of all of all my paintings, both old and new. I didn’t want to romanticize the poverty to everyday Pinoy or the resiliency that we naturally have.
“I really hoped to honor our people for being truthful about the kind of life a lot of Filipinos live today and to show that Filipinos deserve better.
“Thank you for letting this be an eye-opener for me as well. And to those I have offended, I am sorry.”
Pero ayon kay Sos, tuloy pa rin ang kanyang exhibit na bukas sa publiko.
