VP Leni kakausapin ng NDFP sa post-Duterte scenario

NAGPAHAYAG ng intensiyon ang National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) na makipag-usap kay Vice President Leni Robredo kaugnay sa mga isyu hinggil sa negosasyong pangkapayapaan sa pamahalaan.

Sinabi ni Julie de Lima, NDFP negotiating panel interim chair­person sa panayam ng Ang Bayan, opisyal na pahayagan ng Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), ang NDFP ay dapat makipag-dialogo sa mga partido ng opo­sisyon, partikular sa Liberal Party at makipag-usap sa ‘constitutional successor’ upang igiit ang panu­num­balik ng negosasyong pangka­payapaan bilang tun­tungan sa mga pag­susumikap na patalsikin si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

“Prospects for resuming the peace negotiations after Duterte, whether he is ousted or he finishes his term, are possible and desirable,” ani De Lima.

Hinimok niya ang mga demokratikong puwersa na magtayo ng pinakamalawak na nagkakaisang prente at engganyohin ang pag­papalakas ng peace advocacy sa iba’t ibang sector at “classes of the people.”

Binigyan diin niya na sa isang post-Duterte scenario, maaaring magpatuloy ang mga negosasyon upang matalakay ang Com­prehensive Agreement on Social and Economic Reforms (CASER) dahil may mahahalagang probisyon sa pagtugon sa isyu ng CoVid-19 pandemic.

“The draft agreement has a whole article consisting of seven sections which are devoted to the discussion of the people’s right to health. This includes the establishment of a universal public health system that provides free, comprehensive and quality health services for all,” dagdag ni De Lima.
