COVID survivor Howie Severino inaresto sa hubad na face mask

KABILANG ang reporter ng GMA news na si Howie Severino sa libo-libong mga lumabag sa ‘quarantine protocols’ ang naaresto sa isinagawang operasyon  ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD)  at QC Task Force Disiplina nitong Miyerkoles.

 

Sa isinagawang operasyon, kasama si Severino sa mahigit sa 2,000 libong residente na inaresto dahil hindi nakasuot ng face mask at ang iba naman ay dahil sa  kawalan ng physical distancing sa mga pampublikong lugar.

 

Kabilang ang mga senior citizens at menor-de-edad mula sa Batasan Hills ang inaresto dahil hindi sila awtorisadong lumabas ng kanilang tahanan.

 

Agad dinala sa Amoranto Sports Complex,  ang mga inaresto kasama si Severino kung saan sumalang sila sa seminar ng tamang pagsunod sa quarantine protocols.

 

Matapos nito ay agad silang idinaan sa booking proceedings at inquest proceedings para sampahan ng kasong paglabag sa City Ordinance na may kinalaman sa health protocols.

 

Bago sila sampahan ng kaso ay isinailalim din ang mga naaresto sa rapid test para alamin kung positibo o hindi sa COVID-19.

 

Kaugnay nito, iginiit ni Severino na ibinaba lamang niya ang suot na face mask dahil iinom siya ng tubig bago sumakay sa kaniyang bisikleta.

 

Sa Facebook post ni Severino, ipinaliwanag niya na siya at ang kaniyang mga kasama ay nakasuot lahat ng face masks at huminto sila sa bike shop sa Mother Ignacia upang bumili ng inumin.

 

“We were all outdoors where the risk of infection is much lower than indoors and maintained at least four feet distance from each other,” ayon kay Severino.

 

“I had just finished my drink and returned the bottle to the store before I could pull my mask back up, when at least two vehicles of QC law enforcers arrived to tell me I was talking without my mask covering my mouth and had to be brought to Amoranto for a seminar,” paliwanag ni Severino.

 

“However, I am kind of glad that as QC is an epicenter of the disease in the Philippines, they are finally doing something, even if it’s a bit draconian. I even offered to give a talk at the seminar. Instead they returned my bike and told me I could go home,” ayon sa mamamahayag.

 

“I have followed all other safety protocols including a long isolation and quarantine after my discharge from the hospital, until I was officially declared a recovered patient. I have donated plasma for gravely ill patients. I’m very grateful that no one I was in contact with got infected. I’m a lucky person who has gone back to doing things I like to do, including early morning bike rides,” dagdag ng GMA reporter.

 

Magugunitang nitong Abril ay kabilang si Severino sa nagpositibo sa COVID-19. Siya ang tinawag na patient 2828 na kabilang sa mga napaulat na ‘survivor.’ (ALMAR DANGUILAN)
