Walang ‘late’ sa ‘State of Calamity’ — Palasyo

IDINEPENSA ng Palasyo ang pagdedeklara ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ng state of calamity sa Region 4-A dahil sa pagsabog ng bulkang Taal.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesman Salvador Panelo, hindi puwedeng sabihing huli na ang deklarasyon dahil matagal ang epekto ng mga kalamidad.

“They can never be too late in a declaration with respect to calamities. May calamities, siyempre ang tagal niyan. It cannot be late,” ayon kay Panelo sa press briefing kahapon sa Palasyo.

Batay sa proklamasyon ,”the declaration of a State of Calamity will hasten rescue, recovery, relief and rehabilitation efforts of the government and the private sector, including any international humanitarian assistance, and will effectively control the prices of basic goods and commodities for the affected areas.”
