Chevron sumailalim sa fuel marking

SUMAILALIM na rin ang Chevron sa fuel marking sa Bureau of Customs (BoC) at SICPA SA-SGS Philippines.

Ang live fuel marking ng Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer ng Caltex brand ng mga top-quality fuels, lubricants, at petroleum products, ay isinagawa kamakailan sa kanilang import terminal sa San Pascual, Batangas.

Dahil dito, ang CPI na ang naging kauna-unahan sa tinaguriang “Big 3” oil companies, na tumalima sa fuel marking requirement na ipinatutupad ng pamahalaan.

Ang naturang fuel marking activity ay isinagawa nitong 11 Nobyembre 2019 at sinaksihan ni Bureau of Customs (BoC) Deputy Commissioner for Enforcement Teddy Raval at iba pang opisyal at kinatawan mula sa fuel marker consortium, SICPA SA-SGS Philippines, at CPI.

Si Raval ang head ng implementing BoC office sa Fuel Marking Program (FMP) ng pamahalaan.

“The other oil companies with unmarked fuel are encouraged to do the same. They still have three months to comply. We will strictly enforce and impose penalties as mandated by the law,” ani Raval.

“CPI supports the government’s initiative to curb fuel smuggling through this fuel marking program. We hope that  this program will level the playing field among the industry participants and ensure that all oil companies pay the correct taxes and help build the nation,” pagtitiyak ni CPI Country Chairman Louie Zhang.

Matapos makompleto kamakailan ang implementing rules and regulations para sa FMP, ang mga gasolina, diesel at kerosene ay susuriin upang matiyak kung nakasusunod sa prescribed dilution level, sa kanilang refinery, terminal o retail sites.

Nabatid na layunin ng naturang fuel marking activity ng pamahalaan na sugpuin ang oil smuggling sa bansa, sa pamamagitan nang paglalagay ng molecular marker sa mga imported, manufactured at refined fuel products gaya ng gasolina, diesel, at kerosene.
