STUDENTS from Manila, Cebu, and Davao get the chance to experience the marvelous kingdom of Wakanda as Globe Prepaid and GoSURF give away movie passes to Marvel Studios’ Black Panther.
From February 14 to March 2, 2018, lucky students from select schools all over the Philippines will get the chance to win two passes to watch Marvel Studios’ Black Panther just by visiting Globe activity booths in their respective schools to buy load and upgrade to LTE so that they can GoPLAY, GoWATCH and GoSHARE. They just need to register to a GoSURF50 promo to receive an event passport which will serve as their pass to try all the booth activities. The first 50 students to complete all the booth activities will each receive a claim code for two movie passes to Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, which they can claim via the GMovies app.
The 18th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ Black Panther has garnered critical acclaim and broken box office records worldwide. It follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed the throne and take his rightful place as king of Wakanda. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king — and Black Panther — is tested.
Special events like these school activations are part of a collaboration between Globe and Walt Disney Company Southeast Asia that began in 2015. This partnership aims to provide Filipino customers legal access to video-on-demand, interactive content, promotions and other related services across multiple devices from various Disney brands including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and global leader in short-form video, Maker Studios.
These events also reinforce the telco’s commitment to fight against piracy. Its campaign #PlayItRight aims to educate students, who are the most frequent users and subscribers of digital content, to patronize digital consumption from legitimate sources.
#PlayItRight encourages customers and the public in general to play content from legitimate sources and avoid piracy. Aside from providing its customers with safe and quality content, Globe believes it is their responsibility to protect the intellectual property rights of the company’s own original content as well as the licensed content of its global and local partners.
Through this campaign, Globe has blocked over 2,400 illegal sites, has produced and released quality content and made them accessible to audiences through legitimate channels.
