“Access to communication remains critical given the continuing battle in Marawi City. This is why Globe is extending this free service as we remain supportive of the AFP’s and DICT’s efforts in providing assistance to the residents and the soldiers in the area,” pahayag ni Globe President & CEO Ernest Cu.

“Globe Telecom mobile services – voice, SMS, data – are operating normally in majority of the areas hit by a 6.5 magnitude earthquake that struck Jaro, Leyte. The tremor, which resulted in loss of commercial power, initially disrupted services in some areas in Leyte. Globe was able to immediately restore services by utilizing generator sets in sites affected by the power loss. However, some areas in Tacloban City as well as Kawayan, Biliran, Liloan and Thomas Oppus in Southern Leyte may experience poor mobile signal. The company’s technical teams are now closely monitoring the network to ensure normalization of operations in all sites,” wika ni Crisanto.
