Echorsis, pinuri ng mga kritiko

MULING nabigyang pagkakataon ang Echorsis: Sabunutan Between Good And Evil ng second week run sa ilang Metro Manila cinemas matapos itong ipaglaban sa pagkakatanggal sa mga sinehan.

Ayon sa producer nitong si Chris Cahilig ng Insight 360, ang critically acclaimed horror-comedy film na nagtatampok kina John Lapus, Kean Cipriano, at Alex Medina ay mapapanood pa rin sa Market! Market!, Festival Mall, Robinsons Galleria, SM North Edsa, SM Manila, at SM Megamall.

Umaasa rin si Cahilig na marami pang sinehan ang magpapalabas ng naturang pelikula.

“Cinema attendance, including big-budgeted Hollywood flicks, was bad last week perhaps due to the record-high heat. Many still want to watch ‘Echorsis’ in the big screen that’s why I am happy that at least six theaters are still exhibiting it. I just hope that others will follow their example,” ani Cahilig.

Marami ang pumuri sa Echorsis na idinirehe ni Lemuel Lorca at isinulat ng Palanca winner Jerry Gracio, na nagkamit ng Best Picture trophy saNed’s Project  sa CineFilipino.

Sa kabilang banda, sinabi ni Clickthecity’s in-house film critic Philbert Dy na ang Echorsis ay isang ”subversive little gem”. ”It hailed \for its bold depiction of the LGBTQ community. And I believed that ‘Echorsis’ is the “spiritual successor” of the sleeper hit ‘Zombadings’.

“(Echorsis) emerges as a subversive little gem; brave enough to say things that aren’t often touched by our cinema, and it does it while being pretty funny. That’s certainly worth something,”dagdag pa ni Dy.

Pinuri rin ng ilang online at print reviews and netizens sina Lapus, Cirpriano, at Medina sa magaling nilang pagkakaganap bilang klosetang si Kristoff, ang confused na paring si Father Nick, at ang may matamis na dilang gigolo na si Carlo.

Nakatawag pansin din ang unpredictable at sensitive screenplay ni Gracio gayundin ang breathtaking cinematography ni Sasha Palomares saEchorsis.

“I hope that more people, particularly the lovers of Philippine cinema, to come out and watch Echorsis despite the summer heat. It’s truly worth their time, effort, and money,” pag-apela naman ni Cipriano.
