P3-T 2016 budget isinumite na ng Palasyo sa Kongreso

ISINUMITE na ng Palasyo sa Kongreso kahapon ang panukalang P3.002 trilyong pambansang budget para sa 2016.

Ayon kay Budget Secretary Florencio Abad, ang 2016 national budget ay doble ng budget sa nakalipas na anim na taon, mula sa P1.541 trilyon noong 2010 ay magiging P3.002 trilyon sa susunod na taon.

Ang 2016 national budget ay mas mataas ng 15.2% sa 2015 national budget at katumbas ng 19.5% Gross Domestic Product (GDP) ng bansa.

Ang pinakamalaking bahagi ng panukalang budget ay ilalaan sa the Department of Education (DepEd), P436.5 bilyon; Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), P401.14 bilyon; Department of National Defense, P172 bilyon; Department of Interior and Local Government, P156 bilyon; Department of Health (DoH), P128.5 bilyon; at ang Department of Social Welfare and Development, P107.6 bilyon.

“Now we want to ensure the 2016 budget can sustain the reforms of the past years so that transparency, accountability, and citizen empowerment will last beyond this administration. This means supporting legislation that would push for better public financial management. Besides that, we also need to introduce greater openness and transparency in government by championing the Freedom of Information bill,” ani Abad.
