‘Bikini islands’ ipapalit sa u-turn slots – MMDA

IPAPALIT sa u-turn slots ang ‘bikini island’ na ilalagay sa North Ave. – EDSA upang maibsan ang matinding trapic sa Metro Manila.

Bilang bahagi ng programa ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) para maibsan ang trapik sa Metro Manila, maglalagay ng ‘bikini island’ at aalisin na ang U-turn slots.
Sinabi ni MMDA Assistant General Manager Emerson Carlos, ang ‘bikini’ island ay bahagi lamang ng bagong traffic plan ng MMDA na ipatutupad sa susunod na linggo.
Ayon sa opisyal, tatanggalin na rin ang u-turn slots sa ilang bahagi ng EDSA at papalitan ng ‘bikini islands.’
Ipinasara kamakailan ng naturang ahensiya sa bahagi ng Katipunan Road ang U-turn slots makaraan ipatupad sa kahabaan ng C-5 Road ang “one lane truck policy.”
Batay sa MMDA, kaya tinawag na bikini island, dahil hugis bikini ito.
Giit ng ahensiya, ang epekto ng U-turn slots ay nagiging imbudo kaya naiipon din ang mga sasakyan at lalong nagiging matrapik sa lugar lugar.
