PUMANAW na kahapon si dating Health secretary Dr. Alberto Romualdez, Jr., ayon kay Department of Health Assistant Secretary at Spokesperson na si Dr. Eric Tayag.

“DoH is saddened by the death of former Sec Alberto Romualdez, Jr., who steered the health sector reform agenda Our prayers & condolences,” nakasaad sa tweet ni Ta-yag.

Naupong kalihim ng DoH si Romualdez sa ila-lim ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Joseph Estrada magmula 1998 hanggang 2001.

Sinabi naman ni Benjamin de Leon ng Forum for Family Planning and Development, binawian ng buhay si Romualdez dakong 12:15 p.m. sa Manila Doctors Hospital.

“We are still in a state of disbelief. We lost one of the champions of universal health care, pillar of strength and inspiration in the fight for RH bill until it became a statute of the land,” ayon kay De Leon.
