IWINAGAYWAY na naman ni Judy Ann Santos ang bandera ng Pilipinas.
Nagwaging Best Actress si Judy Ann sa 45th Fantasporto International Film Festival nitong Sabado ng gabi (sa Pilipinas) para sa napakahusay na portrayal, bilang si Monet sa horror film na Espantaho ng direktor na si Chito Roño.
Ginanap sa Porto, Portugal, lumipad patungo sa naturang bansa ang mag-asawang Judy Ann at Ryan Agoncillo dahil nga pasok sa listahan ng mga nominee ang Espantaho at si Judy Ann.
Nagkaroon din ng screening doon ang pelikula.
At nitong March 9 sa mismong awards night, sa video ng road manager ni Judy Ann (na si Ralph Mercado) ay naroroon mismo ang pag-a-announce sa pangalan ni Judy Ann bilang Best Actress.
Nasa video ang gulat at tuwa ni Judy Ann nang tawagin ang pangalan niya bilang Best Actress.
At bago siya umakyat sa entablado ay hinalikan siya sa labi ni Ryan.
Sa acceptance speech ay nagpasalamat si Judy Ann sa mga bumubuo ng jury. Inihayag niya na masaya siya na irepresent ang bansang Pilipinas sa naturang festival.
Of course, inihandog ng aktres ang kanyang acting award kina Ryan at sa mga anak nilang sina Yohan, Lucho, at Luna at sa direktor ng Espantaho na si Chito Rono, sa screenwriter ng pelikula na si Chris Martinez, at sa co-producer niya (ng Purple Bunny Productions), si Atty. Joji Alonso ng Quantum Films, at sa buong team ng Espantaho.
Samantala, si Judy Ann din ang itinanghal na pinakamahusay na aktres sa 50th Metro Manila Film Festival nitong nakaraang December, 2024.
Ipinalabas ang Espantaho noong December bilang isa sa official entries sa 50th MMFF.
At bago ang international acting award ni Judy Ann sa Fantasporto ay nakapag-uwi na rin ng karangalan si Juday bilang Best Actress sa 41st Cairo International Film Festival para sa pelikulang Mindanao noong 2018.
Ani Juday sa kanyang speech, “It is heavy (referring to her trophy). There’s a lot of excess baggage when I get back home.”(tumawa si Judy Ann.
“I would like to thank the jury of Fantasporto for the recognition. It is with great pride and honor that I am here to represent my country which is the Philippines.
“I would also like to share this award with my director Chito Roño, our writer Chris Martinez and, of course, to [the] Espantaho team.
“And to my husband and to my three children, they’ve been always my inspiration in every project I make.
“Porto is such a beautiful city. I am just so happy I would be bringing home the best souvenir.”
