“Tinatapos ko po kasi ‘yung album ko ngayon, so medyo naka-work mode po talaga ako, I think that does make me feel good, accomplishing things and you know, finishing something I started.
“Lalo na kung matagal na siyang kailangan natapos,” at muli siyang tumawa, “but good things take time and when it finally comes into completion after a very long time of waiting, that makes you feel very good, at saka French fries po,” at natawang muli si Moira.
“Don’t be too hard on yourself,” saad ni Moira. “I think…I know that that’s such a cliché, and to be honest po parang how I started losing weight, it is when I stopped trying.
“So, in 2020 I actually started all these diets, I was vegan for a while, I did keto, I did intermittent, I did everything, I’ve tried everything, and I’m sorry but I have to say this for parang trigger warning… I became bulimic for 2 years in 2020 to 2022, and it only worsened my situation, and it got me to gain more weight actually,” deretsahang pag-amin ni Moira.
“And when I stopped putting pressure on myself and when I just started allowing myself to just be, doon po parang kumalma ‘yung katawan ko and I started losing weight gradually.
“I think alam ng katawan natin ‘pag naalagaan siya ng tama, alam ng katawan natin kapag minamahal siya ng tama, so self-love is not a selfish thing, and to the people who are trying to lose weight, to the people who are trying to not care about the bullying, I want you to care more about what you think about yourself, because that matters more and it… I had to take so much time to think that I was beautiful before I saw any change physically, and then the physical change happened.
“We are beautiful and ang dami mo ng magagandang traits bago ka pa… bago mo pa makuha ‘yung goal mong weight, ‘coz weight can fluctuate but your heart, that’s where real change happens, and I’m just very, very thankful because everything happened so gradually, it wasn’t like a quick thing, it wasn’t a quick fix, and so when Bona Slim and I… this is not just because you know, this is a brand partnership, but when I first met-up with Bona Slim, they were saying they’re promoting gradual change, and so everything really felt like it was in line.”
“So, when they were telling me about gradual change and change that starts from within, and Bona Slim being something that assists you to feel good starting from within, it really made me feel like, ‘I can do this’, this is something I can do, and iyon po.
“So, my message to the people who are going on a journey that I have been on, don’t be too hard on yourself and be unapologetic when it comes to choosing yourself, it’s not a bad thing.”
Lahad ng singer/songwriter, “My life definitely changed a lot, but I think bago pa po ‘yung weight loss it is more internal first, and it just manifested eventually, physically, with the help of Bona Slim.
“And I’m really, really thankful because the vision of Bona Slim really is in line with what really happened in my life personally and we celebrate all bodies of all shapes and sizes and I love that the tagline of Bona Slim is “feel good first inside”, and I think the change really started internally first, before it manifested externally and my life changed so much after the last 2 ½ years.
“I’ve become you know, happier, but not because of what happened physically, but because of the healing that I experienced inside.”
“Unlike sa commissioned songs, it’s in line with a brand and the words that they want to incorporate within the song, but in terms of creating this song for Bona Slim, it wasn’t that hard because the vision…I related very much with the vision that they have, and also they gave me so much creative freedom, sobrang nagpapasalamat nga po ako kasi sobrang laki po ng tiwalang ibinigay nila sa akin, and I really felt it because hindi lang po nila ako kinuhang endorser, but they actually really trusted what I can give and that included my songwriting.
“And when we went into the studio I really felt the respect and I really, really appreciate that. I love that they gave me their brand’s message and they allowed me to really embrace it and embody it and put it to into a song.”
I think kung titingnan ko mas marami naman po talagang mas magaling, mas marami pong mas deserving, in terms of talent, but I know that I’ve worked hard, I’ve done my part but I also know that I will not be where I am now if not for the people around me and if not for God, so I can never take full credit for what I have now.”
