KAHIT matagal nang umamin si Ice Seguerra na isa siyang transman, hanggang ngayon ay nakatatanggap pa rin siya ng batikos o masasakit na salita mula sa ilang mga netizen na hindi tanggap ang tunay na pagkatao niya.
Kaya naman ayon kay Ice, nalulungkot siya na hinuhusgahan ang mga tulad niya na member ng LGBTQIA+.
SA kanyang Instagram account, nagbahagi ang asawa ni Liza Diño ng kanyang saloobin hinggil sa nararanasang pamba-bash at pambu-bully sa kanya online.
Sabi ni Ice, “It’s sad to think that we are still judged not by our ability to love but by what’s between our legs.
“Society can quickly diminish a beautiful relationship simply because we are different.”
Aniya pa, “Coming out as a transman, I knew I would get a lot of hate. It’s as if my coming out also gave people a license to insult my character and, worse, the people I love.
“I’ve dealt with these people ever since I can remember. Bigotry and homophobic slurs are part of my daily life.
“One can never get used to it, but if that’s the price I have to pay to live my truth, then so be it. But when my family is dragged into this, it is painful.
“This is the life of a person and families in the LGBTQIA+ community. We must constantly prove ourselves and go above and beyond to be ‘worthy’ of society’s acceptance.
“Never mind if we’re good people, they will reduce us to nothing to prove they are ‘right’ about who they think we are.
“People hate what they don’t understand, and it’s probably why it’s so easy for them to hate us. But we’re not backing down, and we will fight till we get our place in the sun.”
Nagbigay din ang OPM singer ng madamdaming mensahe sa kanyang wife na si Liza at sa iba pang miyembro ng kanilang pamilya.
“To my wife, daughter, mama, brother, friends, and allies, thank you for loving me enough to withstand all the hurtful things they say about us.
“Thank you for holding the fort and being my sanctuary when it becomes too much. YOU MAKE ME BELIEVE THAT LOVE WILL ALWAYS WIN,” sabi pa ni Ice.
Tungkol pa rin kay Ice, nakatutuwa siya, dahil sabi niya, hindi siya maggi-guest sa mga programang katapat ng bagong Eat Bulaga na host pa rin sina Tito, Vic and Joey na mapapanood na sa TV 5 simula sa July 1. Ito’y bilang respeto niya sa TVJ at sa nasabing noontime show na naging bahagi siya nito noong child star pa lamang siya.
