FM Jr., sa US <br> IMPLUWENSIYA GAMITIN, OIL PRICE HIKE PIGILIN

HINIMOK ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., ang Estados Unidos na gamitin ang global influence upang pigilan ang patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis at mga produktong petrolyo.

               “We appeal as well to the United States to use its global influence to help ease the current global plight of rising fuel prices that we all have to deal with. We also encourage the US long-term support for the implementation of the ASEAN Plan of Action on Energy Cooperation,” sabi ni FM Jr. sa kanyang intervention sa ginanap na 10^th ASEAN-US Summit sa Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

Umabot sa 7.7% ang inflation o bilis ng pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin sa bansa noong Oktubre, pinakamataas sa nakalipas na 14 taon, bunsod ng suliranin sa supply dahil sa ‘external pressures’ gaya ng Russia-Ukraine war at epekto ng bagyong Karding.

Hiniling ni FM Jr., ang suporta ng US para labanan ang ‘climate change’ at bigyang proteksiyon ang kalikasan.

“We also appeal for the US’ support for the work of the ASEAN Center for Biodiversity. The Center preserves ASEAN’s varied ecosystems and mainstreams biodiversity across relevant sectors. This is to increase resilience against climate change, its impacts, and natural disasters,” aniya.

“Furthermore, its work is critical in mitigating emerging and re-emerging infectious zoonotic diseases and pandemics,” dagdag niya.
