MALABO nang mabawi ni Juan dela Cruz ang P328-bilyong ill-gotten wealth at unpaid taxes ng pamilya Marcos kapag naluklok sa Malacañang si Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr., ayon kay dating Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio.
Malaki rin aniya ang tsansa na buwagin ni Marcos, Jr., ang Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG), ang ahensiya ng pamahalaan na itinatag ni dating Pangulong Corazon Aquno na may tungkuling bawiin ang nakaw na yaman ng mga Marcos, kanilang pamilya, at cronies.
“That’s really the problem. If Bongbong Marcos becomes president, I do not expect the P125 billion to be recovered anymore. He’ll probably abolish PCGG,” sabi ni Carpio sa 1Sambayan TAPATan media forum kahapon.
“There’s a bigger problem because he owes the government P203 billion as of now for the estate tax. He has been ordered by the court to pay, he refuses to pay up to now,” dagdag niya.
“Nobody seems to hold him into account for that. If he becomes president, lalo na. Goodbye na ‘yan. That 203 billion, if you do not collect that in five years, you do not even send a demand letter that prescribes, hindi mo na makokolekta ‘yan.” (ROSE NOVENARIO)
