NAGLULUKSA ang Chairman ng Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) na si Liza Diño sa pagpanaw ng kanyang lola na si Teofista Bautista sa edad na 91 noong October 23, Linggo ng gabi.
Ang lola niya ang dahilan kung bakit siya nahilig sa pelikula, ani Chair Liza. Nagtrabaho noon bilang isang theater checker ang kanyang lola para sa movie production house ni dating Pangulong Joseph “Erap” Estrada, ang JE Productions.
Inihayag ni Liza ang kanyang saloobin sa kanyang Instagram account.
“My grandma, Teofista Bautista , at 91, has lived a full life. She died peacefully in her sleep in our home last night and all of us, from her children to grandchildren, were there at her bedside to tell her how much we loved her.
“Mommy (not Lola), as we call her, is the reason why I fell in love with films.
“Working as a theater checker then for former president Joseph Estrada’s movie production, JE productions, she used to bring me with her to the cinemas and every time she does her work, she would leave me inside the movie house to watch films all day.
“So growing up, I will spend the whole day in various stand-alone cinemas in Cubao and other movie houses around Metro Manila just to watch Filipino films. Since then, my love for cinema has grown and the rest is history.
“So mommy, THANK YOU for everything. Mahal na mahal ka po namin. Pahinga ka na. Alam ko na happy ka dahil finally, you are reunited with Daddy (our lolo). We will miss you. Love you mommy!”
Labis-labis ang pasasalamat ni Liza sa mga nakiramay sa kanilang pamilya.
“Sa inyo pong lahat, thank you again for your support and prayers. It has been such an emotional week for our family and we appreciate all the love we received from you.”
Nagbigay-pugay din ang asawa ni Liza na si Ice Seguerra sa kanilang “mommy” sa pamamagitan din ng IG post.
“Isang lola lang naabutan ko and she passed away when I was 4 years old. Nung naging kami ni Liza, nagkaroon ako ng bagong lola and we all called her ‘Mommy.’
“Masarap kasama si Mommy. Jeprox, mahilig sa games, masayang kakwentuhan at mahal ng lahat. Masaya ako na kahit sandali, nagkaroon ako ulit ng lola. Yun nga lang, bitin.
“I wish we had more time, Mommy. Pero no more pain na at mas makakapagpahinga ka na. Makakalakad ka na ulit nang walang nakaakay at hindi mo na kailangan ng wheelchair. I love you, Mommy. Rest in eternal love and light.”
