INIANUNSIYO ni Bureau of Immigration (BI) Commissioner Jaime Morente ang patuloy na pagpapatupad ng travel ban mula sa pitong bansa dulot ng CoVid-19 variants.
Sa direktiba mula sa Palasyo ng Malacañang, ang mga pasaherong manggagaling sa bansang India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Oman, at United Arab Emirates (UAE) ay hindi muna pahihintulutang makapasok ng bansa hanggang 15 Hunyo 2021.
Ayon kay Morente, “Those who have travel history from said countries within the last 14 days from the date of their arrival in the Philippines will also be prohibited from entering the country.”
“However, those who will only be transiting in the region – meaning they will not exit the airport and will not be cleared by immigration authorities there, and will only be landing for a layover, may be allowed to enter the Philippines,” dagdag niya.
Sinabi rin ng kasalukuyang hepe ng BI Port Operations Division na si Atty. Carlos Capulong, hindi pa rin papayagang pumasok ang mga turista sa ngayon.
“Only Filipinos, Balikbayans, and foreign nationals with valid and existing visa(s) who are not coming from the 7 restricted countries may be allowed to enter the Philippines. Those who will be entering under a 9(a) Temporary Visitor’s Visa or a Special Resident Retirees Visa would need to present an entry exemption document to be allowed to enter,” saad ni Capulong.
Umaasa rin si Commissioner Morente na luluwag ang travel restrictions sa bansa hanggang sa huling bahagi ng taon dahil sa tuloy-tuloy na pagbabakuna ng pamahalaan.
