KASALI na pala ang StarStruck 6 graduate at former Alyas Robin Hood actor na si Dave Bornea sa GMA-7’s comedy anthology na Dear Uge, iniho-host ni Eugene Domingo.
Ang One Up member ay gumaganap na Diego, isang water boy na regularly ay nagpupunta sa sari-sari store ni Uge.
Sa kanyang latest interview, sinabi ni Dave na dapat ay guest lang siya bilang isang friend ng isa sa mga regular sa series na si Aaron Yanga.
“Actually, sumabay lang ako kay Aaron Yanga noon, finollow ko lang ‘yung script,” he said in earnest.
“‘Tapos noong dineliver ko ‘yung script, sabi ni Miss Uge, walang character itong batang ito, nalungkot ako! Ano bang kailangan kong gawin?
“‘Tapos tinanong ako ni Miss Uge, ‘Taga-saan ka ba?’ ‘Taga Cebu po.’
“(Sabi niya,) ‘O, mag-Bisaya ka nga,’ Nag-Bisaya ako. Nag-ano naman si Miss Uge tapos tinanong niya sa director na magiging regular na ba si Diego, pagbalik ko do’n, sinabihan ako na regular na ako.”
Noong unang taon ng Dear Uge sometime in 2016, regular member ng show si Jak Roberto. Palagi niyang ipinakikita ang kanyang abs sa bawat episode kaya naman tinawag siyang “Pambansang Abs.”
But he had to leave the show when he was chosen to be one of Barbie Forteza’s leading men in Meant To Be (2017).
Lately, he is a part of Glaiza de Castro’s new show, Contessa, as her leading man.
Ibig sabihin ba’y siya ang igo-groom na kapalit ni Jak sa show?
“Hindi ko po alam, e. Kasi sa akin lang, ang point of view ko lang sa eksena at saka sa pagpasok ng character ko, ako lang kasi ‘yung water boy na Bisaya.
“So sabi ni Miss Uge, ‘Uy, puwede mong gamitin ‘yung pagiging Bisaya mo para may character naman.’ So nagpatuloy na ‘yung character ko.”
Pa’no kung hanapin sa kanya ang character ni Jak?
“Naku,” he said in all humility, “kasi trademark na ‘yan ni Jak Roberto, e, so hindi ko mapantayan.
“Pero siguro in time, makaiisip o makagagawa rin ako ng sarili kong trademark so ‘yun lang, abangan n’yo na lang.”

Looking back, it was August 2017 when he was diagnosed to be afflicted with cancer of the colon. It was at this phase when he started documenting everything.
