27 contact lenses nadiskobre ng doktor sa mata ng pasyente

HABANG inihahanda ang isang 67-anyos babae para sa itinakdang cataract surgery, nagulat ang mga doktor nang matuklasang ang “blueish mass” sa kanyang mata ay 27 contact lenses… ito ay 17 piraso ng contact lenses na nagdikit-dikit hanggang sa muling makakuha ang specialist trainee ophthalmologist na si Rupal Morjaria, ng sampu pang piraso nito.

Ayon sa The Optomery Today, “the woman thought the discomfort was due to dry eye and old age.”

Sinasabing hindi batid ito ng pasyente. Napag-alaman, nagsuot siya ng disposable contact lenses sa nakaraang 35 taon ngunit hindi regular na nagpakonsulta sa optometrist.

“None of us have ever seen this before,” pahayag ni Ms. Morjaria sa OT. “It was such a large mass. All the 17 contact lenses were stuck together. We were really surprised that the patient didn’t notice it because it would cause a lot of irritation while it was sitting there.”
