5 ex-officials ng Davao City Water District guilty sa graft

DAVAO CITY – Napatunayang guilty sa kasong graft ang limang dating opisyal ng Davao City Water District (DCWD).

Ito ay dahil sa P2.2 milyon water drilling project na agad nilang iginawad sa isang private contractor at hindi isinailalim sa isang public bidding, isang dekada na ang nakakaraan.

Kabilang sa mga akusado ay kinilalang sina dating DCWD assistant general manager Alfonso Laid, dating division manager Rosindo Almonte, at dating department managers William Guillen, Rey Chavez at Arnold Navales.

Pagkabilanggo ng anim na taon at isang buwan hanggang sa 10 taon ang hatol laban sa mga akusado.

Iniutos din ng korte na hindi na papayagan ang mga akusado na makapagtrabaho sa mga ahensiya na sakop ng gobyerno.
