DND kinastigo ng Kamara (Sa lumang war materials na binili sa Amerika)

BINIRA ni Bayan Muna Rep. Carlos Zarate ang Department of National Defense (DND) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pagbili ng mga luma at lipas nang mga kagamitang panggiyera sa ilalim ng Armed Forces Modernization.

Sa isinagawang plenary debate ng 2015 national budget, nabulgar ang P53.166 bilyong ini-release para sa phase-1 ng AFP Modernization Program  at ang karagdagan pang P5 bilyon noong nakaraang taon.

“To date the only notable purchases made by the AFP were the obsolete and decommissioned equipment mostly from the US, like the two (2) coast guard  Hamilton class cutters  and 22 vintage armed personnel carriers (APCs).  These were all in fact purchased by the AFP in violation of their own modernization law and now they are asking for an additional  P20 billion more,” banat ni Rep. Zarate.

Sinabi ng mambabatas, dapat papanagutin ang AFP sa palpak na pagbili ng mga kagamitang pangdigma at dapat na siyasating maigi ng Kongreso ang naturang programa.
