Environment Day ng Sta. Rosa ipinagdiwang!

PANABAY sa paggunita ng 10th Cityhood Anniversary ng siyudad ng Sta. Rosa, ipinagdiwang din ang Environment Day ng lungsod alinsunod sa City Ordinance 1730-2011 o mas lalong kilala sa tawag na Sta. Rosa Environment Code.

Binigyang pagkilala ni Mayor Arlene Arcillas at ng buong city government ng Sta. Rosa ang mga project partners sa environmental program ng siyudad kasabay ang pagkakaloob ng plaque sa kanila.

Personal na pinasalamatan at kinilala ni Mayor Arcillasang kahalagahan ng suporta ng mamamayan at ng mga negosyante sa inisyatiba ng lungsod para sa mga programa sa environment.

“Engaging stakeholders is a very essential part of governance, and it is only fitting to also recognize them for their support. And this is what we are here for today – to award the stakeholders who served as our project partners, both local and foreign, in our various environmental programs,” ani Mayora.

Mayor Arcillas also shared that when she assumed office as City Mayor eight years ago and started employing a participatory type of governance, she has had the most important element to make sure that the Four Pillars of Development that she established will remain stable – “I have the people and their support.”

One solid proof that participatory governance is very much alive in Santa Rosa is Ordinance No. 1720-2011 also known as Environment Code. “This Code was drafted for and with the people. We held public consultations and hearings before it was finally ratified as a law,” pahayag niArcillas.

Ipinagmalaki rin ni Mayor Arcillas na ang Sta. Rosa Cityisa sa 34 siyudad sa buong bansa na nagsagawa ng pilot testing ng Citizen Satisfaction Index ng DILG. At base sa resulta nito, 96% sa kabuuang populasyon ng siyudad ang nagsabing gusto pa rin ng mga mamamayan dito na manirahan sa Sta. Rosa “five years from now.”

Nangunguna sa mga dahilan ng mga residente ang job availabilities sa siyudad at livelihood opportunities.

Maganda rin umano ang mga programa ng lungsod para sa kalikasan na naghihikayat sa iba pang investors at mga mangangalakal na magnegosyo sa Sta. Rosa.
