NAPAKAINIT ng pagtanggap ng pelikulang ipinrodyus nina Sylvia Sanchez at Alemberg Ang sa ginaganap ngayong 78th Cannes Film Festival sa France, ang Renoir.
Binigyan ng standing ovation ang Japanese film na Renoir sa Cannes. Ito ay idinirehe ni Chie Hayakawa na isa sa masuwerteng napili bilang bahagi ng main competition para sa Palme d’Or sa 78th Cannes Film Festival ngayong 2025.
Kasama nina Sylvia at Alemberg bilang co-producer ng pelikula sina Eiko Mizuno Gray, Jason Gray, Christophe Bruncher, at Yulia Evina Bhara. Nakipagsanib-puwersa ang Nathan Studios sa iba’t ibang production companies mula sa Japan, France, Singapore, at Indonesia para sa pelikulang Renoir.
Sa Facebook page ibinahagi ni Sylvia ang isang madamdaming mensahe kasama ang mga litrato nila sa red carpet ng Cannes kasama ang asawang si Art Atayde.
Tunay na nakaka-proud ang tagumpay na nakamit ng award-winning actress at ng kanilang Nathan Studios sa napakainit na pagtanggap ng manonood sa kanilang pelikula mula sa Cannes. Maituturing na isang Pinoy pride ang pagrampa ni Sylvia bilang movie producer suot ang modern black terno.

Ang Renoir ay isang coming-of-age drama na pinagbibidahan ni Yui Suzuki na kasama rin sa grupo nina Sylvia sa red carpet ng 2025 Cannes filmfest. Ang iba pang cast ng pelikula ay sina Lily Franky, Hikari Ishida, Ayumu Nakajima, Yuumi Kawai, at Ryota Bando. Iikot ang istorya sa buhay ng isang dalagang humaharap sa hamon ng panahon kasama ang amang may taning ang buhay.
Maraming movie critic ang pumuri sa Renoir matapos ang screening.
Sa Biyernes, May 24, ang Closing Ceremony ng 78th Cannes Film Festival na ilalahad ang mga nanalong entry.
Sinabi rin ni Sylvia na hindi halos siya makapaniwala na napili ang Renoir bilang parte ng 202 Cannes competition slate. “I’m still in disbelief and absolutely ecstatic that Renoir (directed by Chie Hayakawa, and co-produced with Eiko Mizuno Gray and Jason Gray, Christophe Bruncher, Yulia Evina Bhara, and Alemberg Ang) was selected as part of the 2025 Cannes competition slate.
“This is a collaboration between Japan’s Happinet Studios, France’s Ici et Là Productions, Singapore’s Akanga Film Asia, Indonesia’s Kawan Kawan Media, and of course, the Philippines’ very own Daluyong Studio and Nathan Studios. International sales by Goodfellas.”
