The Swim League Philippines (SLP) concluded its season with a resounding finale, the SWIM BATTLE, held at the Muntinlupa Aquatic Center last September 7, 2024. The event showcased the country’s top young swimming talents, who battled it out for the coveted titles.
Individual Highlights
The 1500m freestyle event saw Aishel U. Evangelista from the Betta Caloocan Swimming Team emerge as the champion, followed by Eric Jacob S. Umali and Rodevic Gonzalo of the Green Blasters Swim Club. In the women’s 800m freestyle, Riana Mara Santiago of Coach Agot Swim Team claimed the top spot, with Johanna Noveras and Kayla M. Agcaoili rounding out the podium.
The Most Valuable Swimmer (MVS) awards were also given out. Mikhael Jasper Mojdeh (Boys 10 years old and under) and Kaeley Vianna Cabalida (Girls 10 years old and under) were recognized for their outstanding performances. Rodevic Gonzalo (Boys 11-16 years old) and Jordane Porsche Sales (Girls 11-16 years old) also received MVS awards.
Team Standings
The Betta Caloocan Swimming Team, coached by Angel Uy Evangelista, dominated the team competition, securing the championship title. The Cavite Blue Wahoo Swimming Club and PH Behrouz Elite Swim Team finished as the first and second runners-up, respectively.
A Successful Season
The SWIM BATTLE marked a successful conclusion to the SLP season, which featured a total of 979 entries from 502 swimmers representing 50 teams across the country. The event was a testament to the growing popularity of swimming in the Philippines and the dedication of young athletes to the sport.
Special Guests
The SWIM BATTLE was graced by the presence of several dignitaries, including Mayor Ruffy Biazon, Congressman Jaime Fresnedi, and National Coach Wilfred Arzaga. Their presence served to highlight the importance of swimming as a sport and the support it receives from the government and the local community.
United We Swim
The SLP season culminated with a powerful message of unity, embodied in the slogan “United We Swim.” The event brought together swimmers from all over the Philippines, fostering camaraderie and sportsmanship. As the country continues to develop its swimming talent, the SLP remains committed to providing a platform for young athletes to excel and achieve their dreams.
